Dear :1440 Family,
(It is with a heavy heart to inform you that) As a result of Governor Brown’s “Two Week Freeze”, we have chosen to comply and suspend operation temporarily for the next two weeks. We know there are differing views on how this situation is to be handled, and we know other fitness facilities may choose otherwise, so this decision does not come lightly and has not been an easy one to make. If the Governor’s “Pause” or “Freeze” is extended beyond two weeks, we will be evaluating our course of action and what other direction we may take. We simply cannot withstand the constant blows to the business.
As for now, this pause will take place beginning tonight at close and will continue through December 2nd. We will reopen as of now on the 3rd.
Many think we are one location of a large corporation, but we are really a small, independently owned franchise of FITNESS:1440. As with most of you, this year has been the hardest we have ever faced. We ask that you bear with us through this new mandate and ride out the next 2 weeks with us. Unfortunately, the Governor has chosen to “force us” to close our doors with no additional support to keep us afloat. We want more than ever to be there for you in the future and we cannot do it alone. We need your help and support now more than ever! We fight not only for our staff and the business, but for the physical and mental health of the community.
We, along with many other gyms and fitness professionals, believe exercise IS medicine and that amazing benefits come from working out… stress relief, reduced anxiety and depression, lowered blood pressure, improved heart health, and a strong community, just to name a few. Heaven knows we all need these things right now! We believe that gyms are safe when adhering to safety measures and should rightfully be considered essential. We hope you have noticed our compliance and how hard we’ve worked to keep a clean and safe environment in the gym.
